Get a contractor out to ess the damage to the gate. If its more than your security deposit to fix it, have the apartment manager sign a paper saying that the security deposit was used for damages to the gate, then go to the moving company and show them the bill for the damage to the gate and you keep the money from the insurance company. Chances are you might be able to profit from this.
