I was making a left turn and had my blinker on.When I turned the car behind me hit me.But i got the ticket?

the lady that hit me started hollering that she,which is me,was making a u turn. the cops asked if I was and I told them I had my blinker on to turn around on the left side of the road.They didn't understand,I was turning not u turning. Do I have any chance at fighting this. Both vehicles are totalled and this is my first wreck Ive ever had and Ive been driving for 24 years. If I didnt have my blinker on then I know it would have been my fault.The cops didnt even look for skid marks to see if she braked.When I was walking to the other side of the road,I didnt see any,so I know she didnt press her brakes.I think she wasnt paying attention and tried to go around me.
