I'm white and have never been a victim of racism: why do most whites whine about being victims of racism?

I work answering the phones for a ministry, and doing the prayer lines. And I had a lady the other day tell me "I'm just going to keep calling back til I get a black person, I can't talk to no white person" and hung up on me. Why did she ume I was white, and why did my skin color matter to her? And these people are claiming to be Christians. And racism CAN be just a hurtful word, doesn't always have to have impact. It made me sad
