How to sound more educated when you speak?

Hi, I have recently been hearing people use synonyms for other words to sound more educated and I would love to talk that way. Would I just remember synonyms for a lot of words and then apply them when I speak. By the way I'm only 13 years old and going on 14 so I'd like to get a head start for job interviews and anything else in the future. Thanks!
