Can i use a light microscope for detection of virus ?

Yes. It's done all of the time. You cannot DIRECTLY view the virus because they are much too small, but you can view the cells that have been infected. Cell morphology can often change in specific ways depending on the virus, and many viral infections can be detected through these changes.
