Anti- social 10 yr old child?

I'm not sure if my son is shy or anti social ...last yr he cried some mornings because he didnt want to go to school , when i visited the school some students there would tell me how shy my son was ....i noticed he didnt speak to the kids unless they spoke to him first ...and he didnt speak very friendly...he dotn like to play with any kids in the neighbourhood , its very hard to get him to go outside ..when he is playing with another child he is cold and not friendly but can be happy at times but it wont take much to make him cold and distant.i put him in a couple activities to see if this will help , it hasnt ....i could go on and on ...i read about anti social behaviour and it sounds like my son .I was an extremely shy child but I had friends and was happy and so called normal , just very shy....In the last 3 yrs I've spoken to teachers and my Dr and it seems no one seems to wnat to help .....I would love to know why my son acts this way , I want to see him happy and at least a little sociable.
